Senior System Engineer

Senior | 32 - 40h | Beuningen, Netherlands (hybrid)

We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior System Engineer to join our team at ASMPT. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the technical development and enhancement of our next-generation Laser separation systems. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, you will drive the full project lifecycle, from initiation and technical feasibility to production and global deployment. Laser Dicing and Grooving plays a key role in semiconductor manufacturing, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enable chip manufacturing. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical development of Laser Dicing and Grooving systems.
  • Support the Lead System Architect in evaluating architectural scenarios for technical feasibility.
  • Provide input to the Project Manager on planning, budgeting, and timelines.
  • Define system and module requirements using a structured, traceable process aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Manage system complexity by breaking it down into manageable subsets and analyzing timing, volume, error modes, and more.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA) at various abstraction levels.
  • Estimate system performance through hand calculations, modeling, or physical testing.
  • Ensure thorough documentation throughout all phases of development.
  • Act as a critical reviewer and guide technical decision-making for outsourced designs.
  • Lead internal design efforts as Lead Designer when applicable.

THIS IS YOU

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in system architecture or system engineering, preferably in the semiconductor or high-tech machine industry
  • Experience in writing system requirements specifications, building prototypes, and performance testing and verification.
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter and NX is a plus
  • Strong communication skills; fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is an advantage
