As a Lead Mechatronics Engineer at ASMPT, you will play a pivotal role in developing next-generation Advanced Packaging machines for the semiconductor industry. Your work will focus on integrating advanced mechatronics, real-time control, and metrology solutions to meet the high demands of our customers in terms of accuracy and throughput. This position requires a multidisciplinary approach, combining technical leadership, design expertise, and hands-on engineering to drive the creation of cutting-edge machines that will shape the future of electronics manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with domain experts to design machine concepts that balance customer requirements and internal targets. Conduct advanced simulations to estimate performance, define control strategies, and develop metrology solutions. Support patent applications where applicable.
• Lead the detailed technical design of machine concepts and oversee prototype realization. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop functional modules and ensure alignment with ASMPT teams in Singapore and Hong Kong.
• Manage the testing and integration of machine prototypes and first production units. Ensure machines meet full performance specifications during initial production.
• Achieve high throughput while maintaining nanometer-level placement accuracy for semiconductor dies.
• Develop and implement control strategies, metrology layouts, and optimize mechanical stiffness to control algorithm performance.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers as the team expands, providing technical leadership and fostering team growth.
• Work closely with teams in Beuningen, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and collaborate with external Dutch engineering partners for co-development and production.
• Occasional international travel to collaborate with product development centres in Asia and development partners in Europe.
