We are looking for a skilled and driven Senior System Engineer to join our team at ASMPT. In this role, you will contribute to the technical development and enhancement of a completely new system within our latest generation Advanced Packaging machines. Advanced packaging plays a key role in semiconductor manufacturing, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enable the integration of multiple chips into a single, high-performance solution. Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, you will drive the full project lifecycle: from initiation and technical feasibility to production and global deployment. If you have extensive experience in system engineering and a passion for innovation, this position offers the perfect opportunity to make a significant impact.

You will work within a growing team where you have the freedom to introduce and develop your own ideas, with ample opportunity for feedback and refinement from our team. You will work closely with our colleagues in Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as with external development partners in the Netherlands. Together we form the driving force behind machines that are deployed worldwide in high-tech industries.

  • Support Lead System Architect in assessing architectural scenarios on technical feasibility.
  • Provide input to project manager for plan, planning, budget and timelines.
  • Define system and module requirements by following a systematic process that ensures clarity, traceability, and alignment with stakeholder needs.
  • Overviewing the system complexity by employing a structured approach that breaks down the system into manageable subsets and making timing-, volume-, error- and other breakdowns to secure nanometre level system accuracy.
  • Conducting failure mode and effect analyses at different abstraction levels.
  • Predict system performance using a combination of analytical models, simulations, and experimental validation.
  • Adhering to disciplined and thorough documentation in all phases of the development process.
  • Occasional international travel to collaborate with product development centres in Asia and development partners in Europe.

THIS IS YOU

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in high-tech machine development, ideally in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in writing system requirements and specifications, building prototypes, and performance testing and verification.
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.

WE OFFER

  • A full-time position (32 - 40 hours per week) at an international high-tech company, where innovation and manufacturing solutions are key.
  • A competitive salary, depending on your knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent employee benefits including a premium pension scheme, travel allowance, and more.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth through training and development programs.
  • A dynamic, collaborative work environment with friendly colleagues and exciting, multidisciplinary projects.
  • 25 vacation days and 3 additional days off.
  • We provide all the necessary hardware and software, including a laptop and phone, to ensure you have everything you need to succeed.
