Product Manager Installed Base

As Product Manager Installed Base, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our installed systems continue to perform at their best while creating new opportunities for customer value and recurring business.

In this role, you are responsible for defining and executing the Installed Base strategy, combining product lifecycle management, service innovation, supply chain optimization, and customer insights. Your focus is on maximizing the performance, reliability, and profitability of our installed base after the initial sale. You will oversee the lifecycle of deployed products, ensure the timely availability of spare parts, develop value-added post-sales services, and optimize maintenance strategies that extend product lifespan and reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers.

Working closely with colleagues across Engineering, Supply Chain, Service, Sales and Marketing, you will translate customer and field feedback into continuous product and service improvements, helping to drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Installed Base Analytics: Track and analyze the performance, health, and age of currently deployed products using KPIs and global dashboards.
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the post-sales product lifecycle from adoption through maintenance and eventual End-of-Life.
  • Service & Revenue Growth: Develop value-added service offerings (e.g., remote monitoring, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, Service Level agreements) and drive upgrade and renewal campaigns.
  • Customer & Field Feedback: Act as the voice of the field organization and existing customers, translating real-world usage and maintenance data into actionable product and service improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align internal teams (supply chain, engineering, sales, customer service, and marketing) around post-sales strategies and customer satisfaction.
  • Timely Spare part delivery within committed lead-times: Identify and drive the supply chain strategies to secure timely supply of spare parts to customers.
  • TCO Reduction Strategies: Find ways to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers; e.g. reduce maintenance and part replacement frequency or lower cost of maintenance.
  • Component Lifecycle Planning: Mitigate obsolescence risks by timely coordinating with the sustaining team to find alternative parts and prevent system downtime.
  • Benchmarking against competition: Analyze and compare all relevant product modules and operational processes against our key competitors.

THIS IS YOU

You are an analytical and customer-focused professional who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, business, and service. You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across different disciplines and international teams.

  • A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience with SAPB1, SAP HANAS4 or other ERP systems.
  • A multidisciplinary thinker with an open-minded approach, strong in communication and collaboration across various technical domains.
  • Technical & Commercial Acumen: strong understanding of hardware or software systems and the ability to turn this knowledge into viable business cases
  • A data-driven mindset, with experience analyzing performance data, defining KPIs, and developing operational improvement roadmaps.
  • A solid understanding of supply chain processes, including spare parts logistics, inventory management, and planning.
  • Financial awareness, with insight into how maintenance costs, equipment depreciation, and system downtime impact customers' total cost of ownership.
  • Fluency in English and Dutch.
